Several on-screen television jodis have won the hearts of viewers. TOI takes a look at some of TVs favourite couples
On The Hot-O-Meter
Barun Sobti & Sanaya Irani
The love-hate relationship and sizzling chemistry of the lead pair of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon has garnered hundreds of fans. Sanaya plays Khushi, a simple, middle-class girl, who is chirpy and fun loving, while Barun plays Arnav Singh Raizada, an arrogant business tycoon. Their sometimes sweet and sometimes bitter romance and the manner in which they discover love for each other sets the chemistry-meter buzzing.
Lovey-Dovey
Krystal D'Souza & Karan Tacker
The typical newly-weds — shy and so in love, Jeevika and Viren, played by Krystal and Karan, have a very sweet relationship. They show how love slowly grows in an arranged marriage. When Jeevika discovers that her sister is suffering from cancer, it's Viren who is her pillar of strength. A very believable love story — they have arguments, fights and misunderstandings but, as the saying goes, love conquers it all. There were even rumours that the two are more than just 'friends' off screen as well.
Very Filmy
Gaurav Khanna & Shrenu Parikh
Gaurav Khanna essays the role of Krish who falls in love with Rajnibala (Shrenu); he discovers that she is his soul mate. But the two are complete opposites and that is the reason why they attract each other. Krish has a flamboyant image whereas Rajnibala is a shy, introvert girl with traditional values. And, this makes the chemistry between them even more interesting.
All In The Eyes
Anas Rashid & Deepika
The Diya Aur Bati Hum jodi's shy romance sets them apart from the rest. Here, the educated Sandhya ( Deepika) is married to a halwai, Sooraj ( Anas Rashid). They have been through their share of ups and downs but they understand each other well. We love how most of their conversations are conducted through their expressions. He views her as a strong support system and companion while her love for him seems to be blossoming day by day.
Intense Love
Nia Sharma & Kushal Tondon
One is a happy-go-lucky girl, while the other is spoilt brat. Earlier the love was one-sided — Virat (Kushal) had fallen for Maanvi (Nia) hook, line and sinker — but now the feelings are reciprocated. The sweet day dreaming, smiles and tears between the couple make for an interesting watch. Also, the fact that she's suffering from cancer and he is doing everything he can to be by her side — he even cut his hair when she lost hers to the cancer treatment — adds to their intense love story.
