Ahtesham Azad Khan - In Conversation with TeamBARUN


01.  Tell us about you! How did you get involved in Acting? 
Well, That's a question I ask my self daily before sleep and when I wake up. But I have to thank god that I can act well and credit must go to my father Mr. Maqbool Wajid who supported a lot in the beginning and recommended that I join an acting school. From there two great souls came into my life Mr. Sunil Gaikawad andTana-ji who helped me in joining a theatre in Bhopal with K.G Trivedi (Chacha). In 2008, I was a commerce student, and then graduated with a B COM in Tourism from Career College in Bhopal, from there I was selected to join 'Sapnoke Bhanwar' on Life OK, as well as Savdan India on the same channel. I was also involved in the movie 'Pied Piper' which had a cameo appearance by Rajpal Yadav. I am also awaiting the imminent release of 'Mainu Ek Ladki Chaahiye' that stars Raghubir Yadav, Puru Chibber, Reecha Sinha, Yatin Kariyeka and Zakir Hussain. I can say acting is like' lahumuh lag gay'.

02. Who is your role model or ideal in acting industry?
This is a question I just love, and can answer in my sleep, It is none other than Shahrukh Khan, he is just awesome. For style, Arjun Rampal, and the list goes on Naseer Saheb, Raghubir Yadav, Zakir Hussain.


03. What are the tips to become a successful actor?

I don't think I can give any tips as I don't think so that I am in such a position to give this mantra! You tell me if you have one or if any one can give me, I will welcome, but I am glad to say just do your work with passion in your heart whatever you are doing.


 04. What profession other than yours would you like to attempt?

I think I would be an automobile guru or gadgets guru who give good advise for your profit. I think I could be a good politician.. (laughs)

05. What do you enjoy doing most in your free time? 

I sleep for a long time after that I eat a lot. 
I love watching all kind of movies from all over the world in all languages.. I just love it.. It's good for my work and watching all kind of genres.. It's good for the lifestyle of an actor, and these movies are like a mobile school for me.

06. How did you get into Photography?
I just love to click whatever I find. I try to capture it on my camera and I love selfie pictures and whenever I am getting board just open my old clicks and try to live that moment again. It's about 70% clicks in my Mobile or my PC.


07. What kind of role you want to do the most?

Every kind of role, I have to do everything as an actor I want sab kuch, I am a little selfish for every role after that people will decide what I can do best or what not.. Well I love being negative as an villain there is more scope to perform it's my thinking because I love to do negative shades and some how it suits me right?

08. Let’s ask your favorites!
• Colours: blue is everywhere for me and then white
• Movies: Schindler's List, Mughal-e-Azam, My Name is Khan, and all Superhero movies like The Avengers.
• TV Shows: I love to watch TLC Channel, Nat Geo, History Channel and Discovery Science.
• Favorite Actor: Shahrukh Khan, Gerard Butler and Robert Downey Jr.
• Favorite Actress: Kajol, Nargis Fakhri, Nicole Kidman, and Julia Roberts.
• Books: I don't read much, but a thousand splendid suns and all biographies and I love reading about Hitler.
•    Foods: Dalchawal, Chicken and Sweets but these days I am on diet.. so Sprouts Veggies.
• Sport: Basketball, F1, Moto GP, T20.
•  Favorite Season: Winter.
• Time of Day: 5pm to 5am that is my time to live lol.
• Music: I love music jazz soft all.
• Holiday Destinations: Mera Gaon, Ghazipur and Dubai is good and when it's a holiday who cares about destinations just sleep.. LOL.
•    City: Bhopal.
•    Country: Mera Bharat Mahan.
• Type of Clothing: It's all about comfort.. So I am wearing just for being relax like shorts and for out sides Blue jeans and cool tees and if I am doing some shoot then the designer decides.
• You can't live without? My mom, dad, sisters, water, internet, food and yeah air also!

09. What can you tell us about the story of 'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai'? 
Well I can't say much but it's a movie that everyone can relate to, It's all about shaadi as you can see in title.. It's a good movie and pure new music.. People will love it and let's see sab abhipatakaroge to dekhogekya ....?


10. How was filming 'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai' different to any other films or TV shows you have been apart of?
Everything is good and it also good but there is Nishant Menon associate ad, he is just too good and Arshad sir who is the writer and director and it's a rare combo so it's something new for me and there is a huge cast almost 41 actors.. so it also a rare combo but it was fun.. one of the best moment of my life.. Now I am missing all
Satra Ko Shaadi Hai moments.

11. How were you approached from Satra.Ko shaadihai'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai'? What can you tell us about your character?

Well like everyone I gave a audition to Jogi Malang sir, the casting director, he is too good in his work.. so he is the one who make me Abhigyan the NRI guy and soon you'll come to know! :)

12. What memories will you take from 'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai'?

Lots of ladna jhagdna masti karna.. There are Harshvardhan Rane, Barun Sobti, Ekavali Khanna, Rahul Singh, Phoebe Lawson, Rosy Satpathy, Eisha Singh, Arshad sir, Loga sir and Nishant Tarun.. Natasha who always shout on me go on the set.. She is sweet.. My little brother Prahlad Manish and Monty.. everything about Satra Ko Shaadi Hai..


13. What was your first meeting with Barun Sobti?

After some time oh good he can speak and he was very humble soft spoken.

14. Did you watch IssPyaarKoKyaNaamDoon or the shows of Barun Sobti?

Not exactly.. but yeah I heard a lot. I don't watch much TV but now I will watch.

15. What was it like to work with Barun Sobti?
Well, he is awesome.. he is like my elder brother.. he taught me a lot because Harsh, Rahul, Barun and me were sharing the same vanity.. so I am the one who always was with these guys. So. Barun is like masti bomb.. he is too good, very jolly, very lucky and he knows how to maintain his grace and Harsh and Barun love to tease me, poke me and just for my good that was awesome moment of my life.

 

 16. How did you feel when you found out Barun Sobti had so many fans?
Don’t ask now a days I am sharing his fans just because of him but yeah there are a thousand of crazy lovers.. Barun is so lucky and he deserve my Facebook id these days over take by Sobtians and in twitter it's like Barun follow me everywhere because every one putting his pictures not their personal even they using Barun's name or surname.. It's all about Barun.. so great but don’t hide your self :P lol how other people will know who is real or who not when every one is having same guy's picture and same name..  Sobtians, you are too good, awesome and lovely people..  lots of love for Barun’s fans because I have to earn mine.

17. Have you or anyone kept any nickname for Barun Sobti on the set of 'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai’? Barun’s name is already good and unique.. There is no nick-name.

18. What was that one thing Barun Sobti used to do on the set of 'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai' when he wasn't shooting? Did Barun Sobti play any pranks (Practical joke) on the set of 'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai'? If yes then tell us about that? 
Well khane main kya hai and meet every single person.


19. What is the best quality that you found in Barun Sobti? 

He is good and he loves his wife like anything.

20. What kind of scenes was the best scene to shoot with Barun Sobti? 

I don’t have much scenes with him but yeah lets see.

21. Anything you can tell us about the sound tracks of 'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai'?
Awesome! You will love it.. There are 5songs or more, which are really awesome and the shaadi songs will be played in every marriage after this movie/music release.


22. Having studied in Bhopal, was it exciting to shoot a movie close by? 

Yeah.. it’s my home.. so it’s a best movie for me!

23. What was it like to work with such a cast in 'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai' and to work under Arshad Syed’s direction?
He is awesome and handsome.. In the first day I thought he is also actor cause he look like model or actor to me.. He knows what he is doing.. He is the writer of the flick too.. He always designs new thing in a very quick and he is a good mentor.. No body can say that it's his first movie as a director.. “Inshallah” he will do well, I want to work with him again!

24. What did you do to pass the time in between shots for 'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai'?
Chill And Relax.. Talking to everyone on the set to get to know each other.. Travelling here and there all the time on the set with spot light man, vanity men and dress dada.. I love to talk and spend time with my crew!


25. Who was your closest friend on the set of 'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai'?
Harshvardhan Rane, Barun Sobti, Ekavali Khanna are very close to me. There are my mentor as well, Tana ji who taught me a lot and first time I am working with him.. he is my bestie too!

26. What have you learned from your cast and crew of 'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai'?
Do everything in proper time at proper place and be focus on it.. by Harshvardhan Rane.

27. What was the best part of 'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai' wedding?

Cast.. I mean the huge cast and pure music.


28. There is a picture of you in a Mughal type outfit on your Facebook, we were extremely curious could you explain that?
Well, I have done a serial called MUMTAZ MAHAL as Shahjahn the lead, It is all about Taj mahal and Shahjaha Urf Shehzada Khurram.. I think it will be 18 episodes and come out soon.. It was a great experience and it was very tough because of the costume was too heavy and being Shahjaha it's not easy to maintain your grace body language and Urdu.

29. Did you meet John? What was that experience like?
Yeah, He is too good he is very down to earth.. He appreciates everyone.. He is a nice cool guy and as a producer he knows his work!
 
30. What is next for you?
I have something in pipeline lets see kab nal atahai :P Let's see!
