Barun Sobti fans slam Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon — Ek Baar Phir

Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani’s crackling chemistry made Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon immensely popular. But after Barun quit the show, the channel had to end it as the fans only wanted to see Barun in the lead. Now, news is that the show will be back on the tube with a brand new season,

cast and story. This second edition, called Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon — Ek Baar Phir plans on recreating the magic of the orginial show and bring to fans, a riveting love story. However, this move hasn’t gone down too well with the fans of the original show. They have taken to social networking websites, protesting against the title being, cashed in on, (read tweets below).

A source says, “The working title of the show was Astha earlier, and the story was that of a romantic comedy like IPKKND. Perhaps with requests from a few fans and reports of the IPKKND season 2 being in the pipeline, prompted the channel to change the name.”  The new show will star Shrenu Parikh and Avinash Sachdev.

In a statement made by the channel, Barun said, “IPKKND was one show that was loved by one and all, I was lucky to be a part of it. I have always believed that its story was its strength. It'll be interesting to see the second season. I hope it does well. I wish all the luck to the channel and the production house.”

@aakanksha_joshi: they want 2 cash in on the brand name IPKKND but this is not tolerated by fans! (sic)
@Mahezabeen: Bakwaas Idea! #IPKKND is NOT #IPKKND without the original cast! #EpicFail(sic)
@Aquagal001: IPKKND is not IPKKND without Arnav-Khushi & without Barun-Sanaya. New pairs shall create their chemistry in a new show than doing it on the name of IPKKND. It hurts the feelings of fans. (sic)
@Vixen_Cat: I would be interested HAD SaRun been in it. NOT if the cast has changed & title is being cashed in on. (sic)
@pari_tweets: Change the name of the show, we loved ipkknd for barun & sanaya, No SARUN No IPKKND! didn't we prove it b4. we have fought for our show once and will do it again! hope u saw the dislikes (read HATES) the promo got on Youtube and still counting! (sic)

Case Solved : Why Star Plus and Sphere Origins used the title Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?

Newsroom is here with a exclusive piece of news about Star Plus creatives chalking in last changes for Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon – Ek Baar Phir which was supposed to launch as Astha on Star Plus.

Newsroom’s social media accounts have been spammed by request of fans to know why Star opted for the title Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon,so detective minds at Newsroom looked upon the case which wasn’t difficult as it had controversies all over it.

Newsroom has learnt that the show Astha was supposed to be based on Astha’s daily struggle but last minute changes by Star caused Sphere Origins to change the title of the show. Now the show is changed into a romantic comedy so the channel decided to cash in on the Iss Phaar Ko Kya Naam Doon franchise.

The show was supposed to be based on Astha’s struggle as a woman who still had faith on love but Star Plus creative team churned up the entire concept last month and made it a sequel to popular romantic saga ‘Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon’.

Actors namely Avinash Sachdev and Shrenu Parikh confirmed to Newsroom that they were not aware while signing the dotted lines of the show being a season 2 of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon but last month they were made aware of the fact.

Star Plus has promised to re-create the magic again which is possible or not is still a question?

Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon Season 2?

Newsroom is here updating fans on the latest developments of Star Plus launching a new season of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon with a new production house and lead pair.

According to a source,”Star Plus apparently had a deal with 4 lions to buy the franchise name ‘Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon’ from Gul Khan’s production house.”

The promo released of the new season (IPKKND) and initially the response has been very negative with Newsroom receiving mails,Facebook and Twitter messages from fans to ask Star to change the title which is next to impossible as Star India has invested a huge amount in the show to make it grander and bigger this time.

According to latest news from Star, the show will replace Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saraswatichandra in mid september of this year,as the show didn't rock the TRP chart.

Top 10 Most Talked about Celebrities of Small Screen - #1. Barun Sobti

The actor had a very normal start in the industry. He is recognized for playing roles in shows like Shraddha and Baat Humari Pakki Hai. Later came the show that proved to be a miracle for this actor – Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam doon on Star Plus. Barun had to leave show in between due to his health and personal conflicts. It happened for the first time in the history of Indian television that the show went off-air, soon after its actor left it. It proved that Barun had, and still has what it takes to gather applauses and fans in his kitty? Well done!

Barun Sobti's heroine in '22 yards' revealed

The cat is out of the bag. Barun Sobti fans, who have long been speculating who their fave hero would romance on the big screen, can now rest their case.

Newcomer Suzanna Mukherjee has bagged her dream project in Bollywood. She is a part of 22 Yards, which stars the popular actor Barun Sobti. The film, directed by Mitali Ghoshal, will be shot in Kolkata. Suzanna will start shooting from August 20. "She plays a Bengali girl Shonali, who is a sports journalist. She will be the only innocent quotient in the film. I auditioned a lot of girls for the role — many of them were big names too — but I chose Suzanna because I see innocence in her smile. As for the look, I have been a sports journalist and so, know that journalists nowadays no longer wear skirts and carry jholas. They dress up according to contemporary fashion, and so will Suzanna," said Mitali.

Suzanna has earlier been part of a movie called Tutiya dil. Her projects on the small screen include Roadies, Roomie and Emotional Atyachaar. "After the film release last year, I have been busy doing theatre and was auditioning too. At first I was not too serious about the role. It was only when I was called for the second round that I enquired about the lead as the role requires a strong, male oriented character. I do not watch much TV and did not know about him, so I Googled him and saw episodes of Iss Pyaar Ko Naam Doon on YouTube. I found me to be very good looking. Also, everybody in my family watches TV and knew who he was. Then, I came to know about his huge fan following when I spoke to my friends about him. It is always an added advantage for me. I then met Barun for a few workshops in Mumbai and found him to be an understated actor with a lot of subtext. I like his work. As a person, he is extremely easy going and simple. There is no fuss about him, though he is so popular." Asked that would she be able to recreate the chemistry that Barun had with Sanaya Irani in his last project, she said, "I have to, I have no choice. I will try to give my best."

Asked how she came to know about the auditions, she said, "The casting director of the film had auditioned me earlier. The funny thing was that I was the last person Mitali auditioned. In fact, she wasn't even willing to meet me because she had seen so many girls earlier. And after she did audition me, seeing her expression, I thought she had rejected me."

Suzanna, born to a Bengali dad and Ukranian mom said she was nervous about her performance. "I play a Bengali girl. The character is very different from what I am in real life. I m generally reserved, but I play an outspoken, bindaas and jovial girl who wants to become a writer," said Suzanna, who was brought up in Ukraine and Chhatisgarh, before moving to Pune for higher studies. "I can speak Bengali, but can't read and write in the language," said the actress, who holds an MBA degree in finance.

The movie has four songs, out of which the romantic number between Barun and Suzanna — composed by Salim-Sulaiman — will be shot in various location of Mumbai.

Barun Sobti set to romance Suzanna Mukherjee in Kolkata

The newcomer's innocent smile prompted director Mitali Ghoshal to cast her opposite the TV heartthrob

The cat is out of the bag. BarunSobti fans, who have long been speculating who their fave hero would romance on the big screen, can now rest their case. Newcomer SuzannaMukherjee has bagged the role in MitaliGhoshal's 22 Yards. The girl will start shooting from August 20 in Kolkata.

"She plays a Bengali girl, Shonali, who is a sports journalist. Though I auditioned a lot of girls, what struck me about Suzanna was her innocent smile," said Mitali.

Suzanna was earlier part of Bolly flick TutiyaDil and her projects on the small screen include Roadies, Roomie and Emotional Atyachaar. "Till the second round of the auditions, I didn't know about Barun. After hearing about him, I looked up the net and saw episodes of IssPyaarKoKyaNaamDoon? He came across as very good-looking. Also, everybody in my family watches TV and knew who he was. I met Barun for a few workshops in Mumbai and liked his work. As a person, he is very simple. Despite being so popular, he isn't fussy," she said.

Though born to a Bengali father and a Ukrainian mother, Suzanna is nervous about playing a Bengali girl. "The character is very different from what I am in real life," said Suzanna.

Barun Sobti reveals his birthday plans

Barun Sobti, who became a small screen sensation and created a frenzy as Arnav Singh Raizada in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, reveals his birthday plans.

Barun will be shooting in Kolkata from August 18 for the second schedule of his Bolly movie 22 Yards. We asked him if that meant that he would celebrate his birthday (August 21) in Kolkata, he said, "No I am taking off for two days from the schedule. We haven't planned anything, but I and my wife Pashmeen might go somewhere for a quiet, small trip. The location is still undecided."

When told that his birthday was trending on Twitter (10 days before the actual day) courtesy his huge female followers, he said, "I am just thankful to them. I have not been seen on the screen for a long time now. I am glad that people have kept me in their mind. I hope to surprise them with the kind of work I am doing."
