Sanaya and I Were Like Hayden and Gilchrist: Said Barun Sobti

Barun Sobti set the temperatures soaring in the already scorching Kolkata when he was here from May 7 to 9.

He was a part of the team to survey the sites where his second Bollywood film, 22 Yards, will be shot. Director Mitali Ghoshal said, "We did a recce of the famous Maidan among other places. Since our DOP Arvind Kumar of Gangaajal and Apharan fame was here, Barun also wanted to be a part of it. We also practiced some sequences so that he gets into the character of cricket agent Ron Sen." He will soon be in the city again to commence shooting for 22 Yards.

Our luck soared and we got the chance to have a small conversation with Barun. It was like whoa! He is a real down to earth person. Most celebrities insist on food from five-star hotels, but Barun is so humble that he came out of his car to even have roadside tea! The shy actor also keeps looks down in shopping malls and public places to avoid being recognized. During our 3 minutes conversation, Barun answered some of our questions related to his career, movies, movies, future plans and his come back on television.

Barun, there are a lots of rumors going on about your come back on Television, is there any truth in such rumors?

I don't have any clue about such things. As you can see, right now, I'm busy with my new project.
And my first movie is ready to hit the floor. Hopefully, this will keep me busy for at-least a full year.

In one of her recent interviews, Sanaya said that she misses you as a best co-star she have ever worked with, what would you say about that? Do you guys meet?

"Yeah, we guys meet quite often. And yes, it was awesome having her as a co-star. As she is an amazing co-actor. If spoken in cricket's language, Sanaya and I were like Hayden and Gilchrist. Hamari on-screen chemistry khatarnak thi, yaar," said Barun and chuckled.

With this, we thought it best to leave him alone to enjoy his lunch with his team. Barun indulged in food at the famous Bengali restaurant Bhojohori Manna. "Barun loves Bengali food. But he couldn't eat in peace as his fans kept coming to get pictures clicked. He then went to a burger joint, where again he was surrounded by fans. This time around, more guys came up than girls to get photographed with him.
