Barun’s inspired by Dabangg Khan

Barun Sobti must be a relieved man. His debut film Main Aur Mr Riight is finally making it to the screens. The teaser has just been released. In the film, Barun is shown to be a huge fan of Salman. In one of the scenes, the actor will be seen sporting Being Human T-shirt and long hair which Salman sported in his film hit Tere Naam. In fact, his entire look in the film is inspired by Dabangg Khan. 

To get into the skin of Salman, Barun did workshops and saw many films of the superstar. Even in real life Barun is a big fan of the actor. “Who isn’t a fan of Salman Khan these days? I have read a lot about him and I really admire him for the things he has done for people. I would consider myself lucky if I can be half as helpful,” says Barun best known for his serial Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon.

Barun Sobti, who essays the role of an avid Salman Khan fan in Main aur Mr. Riight, went all out to get under the skin of his character. While Barun’s look in the film is inspired by the superstar, the actor not only sports Being Human t-shirts in the film but will also sport his signature long hair from 'Tere Naam' which became a rage at the time of the film’s release.

Barun did a workshop for his role and even watched all of Salman Khan’s films to understand his body language.

Madmidaas Films’ Main Aur Mr.Riight is scheduled to release on 12th December 2014.

Barun Sobti - Shenaz Treasurywala's MAIN AUR MR RIIGHT trailer launched

MAIN AUR MR RIIGHT, a Madmidaas Films presentation launched the second look and the trailer of their film today.

The trailer features actress Shenaz Treasurywala along with television actor & heartthrob Barun Sobti as the lead couple. It gives fans an insight into the characters of Aliya and Sukhi - two people who are complete opposites and yet are perfect for each other or maybe not? That is the question the trailer explores.

Aliya, a perfectionist, is waiting for her Mr Riight, the guy who will complement her perfectly and Sukhi is a struggling actor with a reckless personality. The film explores the complex dynamics of a relationship in a humorous way. The trailer shows how Aliya tries to change Sukhi into Mr. Right, but will she succeed?

The film is a humorous take about complex dynamics of two people in love but completely opposite in nature. This light romantic movie shows the various perceptions that people have with regard to finding their soul mate. The film features a completely different avatar of popular television actor Barun Sobti.

Directed by Adeeb Rais and produced by Pooja Gujral and Aseem Rais, MAIN AUR MR. RIIGHT is slated to release is on December 12, 2014. The music has been given by renowned singer/musician Bappi Lahiri and many more.

Barun Sobti at NM College Umang 2014

So on Monday, the news broke that Barun Sobti would be attending the NM College's annual Umang Event. The words probably every Sobtian was waiting to hear since Barun's last appearance The Miss Malini hangout. So with a hashtag #BarunSobtiAtUmang decided,alarms set and non Mumbaiker's wishing they could move there,we all waited till the first of the tweets came through.The excitement was palpable !

The event was scheduled for 1.30pm IST, and moments before we got the tweet from Pooja Dutta, Barun's manager that they were indeed on their way ! This did little to quell the *dhak dhak* that was present in the hearts of us all. Pretty soon Sobtians made their way to the auditorium where the contest would be held, but as we soon found out, this was a popular event ! As a result some fans couldn't get in, but kudos to them for waiting outside(you guys rock!)

Then it came, Megha, another member of staff from Astrus Talents, posted the pic we had waited 3 months to see ! Barun, black t-shirt, faded jeans and black converse ! Not to mention a curly hairstyle, which had the author of this post questioning the similarity with her own hairstyle. None the less it was a sight for sore eyes for all of us and just a few pictures surely wouldn't be enough !

And it really wasn't, we were treated to an interview by Radio Mirchi Mumbai, in which Barun talked about the government and the budget, which we are told is on all day?

Tweets from fan's inside the auditorium were mixed from describing Barun as a 'Greek God' to the reactions of other members of the crowd.  It wasn't till after the event was over and fans had recovered from their Sobti induced euphoria, that some where lucky to get pics with him and some awesome fans sang him Happy Birthday, to which our ever humble Barun smiled and said thank you.

As previously informed by Vibha Ji, a crew from Saas Bahu Aur Saazish also interviewed Barun, and we were all treated to a shot teaser this afternoon, as per usual we were all floored, and dare I say fell a little bit more in love with the guy ! The whole segment will be shown tomorrow for which we all cannot wait to see !

Barun Sobti at NM College Umang 2014 - A fan's experience

Today, was an eventful day in more than one way for Sobtians. Barun Sobti today attended the NM College Umang event to judge the Battle Of The VJ's contest. So while many of us eagarly awaited pictures, videos and tweets from the event, a few lucky Sobtians got to actually be there in person. One such Sobtian was Monisha who wrote an account of her experience today.

Inspite of living in Mumbai, I had never met Barun till now. But I always had a feeling that I would meet him some day. And today, I did!
He came 10 minutes before the event was supposed to start. The feeling I got when I saw him from such a short distance, I cannot explain! He was accompanied by Meghaa Ruparel and another woman. After he had settled down, I shouted' HIIIIII BARUN!' He looked at me and said hi(and also a wave) in such a cute way my heart just melted! 

Meghaa offered to take a photo for me so I handed over my phone to her. Previously she had been clicking away on her iPad so when Barun saw my phone in her hand he, in the typical shocked sobti tone said, " tere phone ko kya hua!"

There was also a participant who was talking about section 377 in India( it deals with homosexuality). She asked Barun about his views. He said he was pro gay and supported them. The audience hooted and then Barun said, "Hey I said I'm pro gay. I'm not gay!" 

Another participant who was hosting big boss asked him whether he would like to participate in the show. She told him he would get 1 crore and a one week holiday with Dolly Bindra. Barun replied, " I'll participated provided you don't give me Dolly Bindra" 

But later on he refused to participate in BB in spite of the prize money. Now that's our Sobti ;)
There was also a participant who became a bit nervous on stage and asked for some time. Barun very generously allowed her to go out and gave her a second chance! 

The event finally came to an end. He was called on stage and he said few things which I didn't hear because I was busy staring.

All the girls took a group selfie with him( I was squished) and then he exited. We ran after him right till the road. We didn't even realize that it was raining. We finally saw him for one last time before he was frisked off to his car by the security assistant.
What a day!!

I along with a friend of mine reached college one hour before the event was supposed to start. We went to the venue and asked an assistant where Barun was going to sit. She pointed to the first row on the other side of the hall. A group of 7-8 girls(Barun fans too) had already occupied the 2nd row. There were only 2 spots left in the corner. We ran and took those seats. We were given clear instructions that we were not allowed to take pictures with him. Oh well! 

In the event war of VJs, the participants were given a show(jhalak, big boss etc) and they had to host the first episode. Barun was so cute he just sat there as if he is part of the audience. When a participant asked the audience who is from Delhi here, Barun raised his hand too!

Ahtesham Azad Khan - In Conversation with TeamBARUN

01.  Tell us about you! How did you get involved in Acting? 

Well, That's a question I ask my self daily before sleep and when I wake up. But I have to thank god that I can act well and credit must go to my father Mr. Maqbool Wajid who supported a lot in the beginning and recommended that I join an acting school. From there two great souls came into my life Mr. Sunil Gaikawad andTana-ji who helped me in joining a theatre in Bhopal with K.G Trivedi (Chacha). In 2008, I was a commerce student, and then graduated with a B COM in Tourism from Career College in Bhopal, from there I was selected to join 'Sapnoke Bhanwar' on Life OK, as well as Savdan India on the same channel. I was also involved in the movie 'Pied Piper' which had a cameo appearance by Rajpal Yadav. I am also awaiting the imminent release of 'Mainu Ek Ladki Chaahiye' that stars Raghubir Yadav, Puru Chibber, Reecha Sinha, Yatin Kariyeka and Zakir Hussain. I can say acting is like' lahumuh lag gay'.

02. Who is your role model or ideal in acting industry?
This is a question I just love, and can answer in my sleep, It is none other than Shahrukh Khan, he is just awesome. For style, Arjun Rampal, and the list goes on Naseer Saheb, Raghubir Yadav, Zakir Hussain.


03. What are the tips to become a successful actor?

I don't think I can give any tips as I don't think so that I am in such a position to give this mantra! You tell me if you have one or if any one can give me, I will welcome, but I am glad to say just do your work with passion in your heart whatever you are doing.

 04. What profession other than yours would you like to attempt?

I think I would be an automobile guru or gadgets guru who give good advise for your profit. I think I could be a good politician.. (laughs)

05. What do you enjoy doing most in your free time? 


I sleep for a long time after that I eat a lot. 

I love watching all kind of movies from all over the world in all languages.. I just love it.. It's good for my work and watching all kind of genres.. It's good for the lifestyle of an actor, and these movies are like a mobile school for me.

06. How did you get into Photography?
I just love to click whatever I find. I try to capture it on my camera and I love selfie pictures and whenever I am getting board just open my old clicks and try to live that moment again. It's about 70% clicks in my Mobile or my PC.

07. What kind of role you want to do the most?

Every kind of role, I have to do everything as an actor I want sab kuch, I am a little selfish for every role after that people will decide what I can do best or what not.. Well I love being negative as an villain there is more scope to perform it's my thinking because I love to do negative shades and some how it suits me right?

08. Let’s ask your favorites!
• Colours: blue is everywhere for me and then white
• Movies: Schindler's List, Mughal-e-Azam, My Name is Khan, and all Superhero movies like The Avengers.
• TV Shows: I love to watch TLC Channel, Nat Geo, History Channel and Discovery Science.
• Favorite Actor: Shahrukh Khan, Gerard Butler and Robert Downey Jr.
• Favorite Actress: Kajol, Nargis Fakhri, Nicole Kidman, and Julia Roberts.
• Books: I don't read much, but a thousand splendid suns and all biographies and I love reading about Hitler.
•    Foods: Dalchawal, Chicken and Sweets but these days I am on diet.. so Sprouts Veggies.

• Sport: Basketball, F1, Moto GP, T20.
•  Favorite Season: Winter.
• Time of Day: 5pm to 5am that is my time to live lol.
• Music: I love music jazz soft all.
• Holiday Destinations: Mera Gaon, Ghazipur and Dubai is good and when it's a holiday who cares about destinations just sleep.. LOL.

•    City: Bhopal.
•    Country: Mera Bharat Mahan.
• Type of Clothing: It's all about comfort.. So I am wearing just for being relax like shorts and for out sides Blue jeans and cool tees and if I am doing some shoot then the designer decides.
• You can't live without? My mom, dad, sisters, water, internet, food and yeah air also!

09. What can you tell us about the story of 'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai'? 

Well I can't say much but it's a movie that everyone can relate to, It's all about shaadi as you can see in title.. It's a good movie and pure new music.. People will love it and let's see sab abhipatakaroge to dekhogekya ....?

10. How was filming 'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai' different to any other films or TV shows you have been apart of?
Everything is good and it also good but there is Nishant Menon associate ad, he is just too good and Arshad sir who is the writer and director and it's a rare combo so it's something new for me and there is a huge cast almost 41 actors.. so it also a rare combo but it was fun.. one of the best moment of my life.. Now I am missing all Satra Ko Shaadi Hai moments.

11. How were you approached from Satra.Ko shaadihai'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai'? What can you tell us about your character? 

Well like everyone I gave a audition to Jogi Malang sir, the casting director, he is too good in his work.. so he is the one who make me Abhigyan the NRI guy and soon you'll come to know! :)

12. What memories will you take from 'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai'?

Lots of ladna jhagdna masti karna.. There are Harshvardhan Rane, Barun Sobti, Ekavali Khanna, Rahul Singh, Phoebe Lawson, Rosy Satpathy, Eisha Singh, Arshad sir, Loga sir and Nishant Tarun.. Natasha who always shout on me go on the set.. She is sweet.. My little brother Prahlad Manish and Monty.. everything about Satra Ko Shaadi Hai..

13. What was your first meeting with Barun Sobti?

After some time oh good he can speak and he was very humble soft spoken.

14. Did you watch IssPyaarKoKyaNaamDoon or the shows of Barun Sobti?
Not exactly.. but yeah I heard a lot. I don't watch much TV but now I will watch.

15. What was it like to work with Barun Sobti?
Well, he is awesome.. he is like my elder brother.. he taught me a lot because Harsh, Rahul, Barun and me were sharing the same vanity.. so I am the one who always was with these guys. So. Barun is like masti bomb.. he is too good, very jolly, very lucky and he knows how to maintain his grace and Harsh and Barun love to tease me, poke me and just for my good that was awesome moment of my life.

 

 16. How did you feel when you found out Barun Sobti had so many fans?
Don’t ask now a days I am sharing his fans just because of him but yeah there are a thousand of crazy lovers.. Barun is so lucky and he deserve my Facebook id these days over take by Sobtians and in twitter it's like Barun follow me everywhere because every one putting his pictures not their personal even they using Barun's name or surname.. It's all about Barun.. so great but don’t hide your self :P lol how other people will know who is real or who not when every one is having same guy's picture and same name..  Sobtians, you are too good, awesome and lovely people..  lots of love for Barun’s fans because I have to earn mine.

17. Have you or anyone kept any nickname for Barun Sobti on the set of 'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai’? Barun’s name is already good and unique.. There is no nick-name.

18. What was that one thing Barun Sobti used to do on the set of 'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai' when he wasn't shooting? Did Barun Sobti play any pranks (Practical joke) on the set of 'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai'? If yes then tell us about that? 

Well khane main kya hai and meet every single person.

19. What is the best quality that you found in Barun Sobti? 


He is good and he loves his wife like anything.

20. What kind of scenes was the best scene to shoot with Barun Sobti? 


I don’t have much scenes with him but yeah lets see.

21. Anything you can tell us about the sound tracks of 'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai'? 


Awesome! You will love it.. There are 5songs or more, which are really awesome and the shaadi songs will be played in every marriage after this movie/music release.

22. Having studied in Bhopal, was it exciting to shoot a movie close by? 


Yeah.. it’s my home.. so it’s a best movie for me!

23. What was it like to work with such a cast in 'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai' and to work under Arshad Syed’s direction? 


He is awesome and handsome.. In the first day I thought he is also actor cause he look like model or actor to me.. He knows what he is doing.. He is the writer of the flick too.. He always designs new thing in a very quick and he is a good mentor.. No body can say that it's his first movie as a director.. “Inshallah” he will do well, I want to work with him again!

24. What did you do to pass the time in between shots for 'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai'? 


Chill And Relax.. Talking to everyone on the set to get to know each other.. Travelling here and there all the time on the set with spot light man, vanity men and dress dada.. I love to talk and spend time with my crew!

25. Who was your closest friend on the set of 'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai'?

Harshvardhan Rane, Barun Sobti, Ekavali Khanna are very close to me. There are my mentor as well, Tana ji who taught me a lot and first time I am working with him.. he is my bestie too!

26. What have you learned from your cast and crew of 'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai'?

Do everything in proper time at proper place and be focus on it.. by Harshvardhan Rane.

27. What was the best part of 'Satra Ko Shaadi Hai' wedding?


Cast.. I mean the huge cast and pure music.

28. There is a picture of you in a Mughal type outfit on your Facebook, we were extremely curious could you explain that? 


Well, I have done a serial called MUMTAZ MAHAL as Shahjahn the lead, It is all about Taj mahal and Shahjaha Urf Shehzada Khurram.. I think it will be 18 episodes and come out soon.. It was a great experience and it was very tough because of the costume was too heavy and being Shahjaha it's not easy to maintain your grace body language and Urdu.

29. Did you meet John? What was that experience like? 


Yeah, He is too good he is very down to earth.. He appreciates everyone.. He is a nice cool guy and as a producer he knows his work!
 

30. What is next for you?


I have something in pipeline lets see kab nal atahai :P Let's see!
